The past two days have been busy — lots of fun work with children, but I didn’t make the time to do my daily drawing on Friday. And Saturday, I was so unhappy with what I drew, that I ripped it up.
While I was watching my neighbor’s children, I tried to do a bit of gesture drawing, but became frozen. I still have trouble at times drawing in front of others, even children. I’m working on it, though. When I get my head completely together, I’ll be better at it. But it won’t get better all on its own — I’ll have to practice a little each time I’m out and about. And schedule some time to draw in the neighborhood.
Meanwhile, I finished up a journal and started a new one.

I make a cover and title page for each journal. I got the cover done, but not the title page.

Yesterday, I got my new waterbrushes in the mail. Perfect timing to do my color chart for the new journal.

Can one have too many colors? I find that hard to believe. I tend to replace those that I rarely use with new delights. I feel a need for a few more new ones before I travel in May, but for now, this rainbow will have to do.
I’m drawing daily to help manage depression, long-term disability, and life in general. If you’d like to see the beginning of this project, you can see it here. You can also follow me through WordPress or on Facebook.
