Andrea Benson introduced me to this amazing artist’s website. She’s doing wonderful art with fabric that has a sense of immediacy and nostalgia — she brings out how much cloth figures into the stories of our lives. She’s out of Denver but I hope to one day see her work live.

Andrea Benson
One artist who’s work has captivated me since I first saw it at the Open Studios is Andrea Benson. She does encaustic paintings and drawings that have an ethereal yet grounded quality. Her figures unravel into landscapes and burst into flower. I’m always delighted when I see her work.
